Coming Out of the Shadows!

Time to come out of the shadows I think. Maybe time to let Jonny Greeneyes and his pals out into the light for a bit.

These are the characters in my first fantasy novel. I have come to know them pretty well over the last 2 years!

I have finally got brave enough to put a few paragraphs onto the blog, just to show anyone thinking about giving writing a try that we all have it in us to create something!

(I am also learning how to schedule posts)

These are the little précis I started off with to give people an idea of how the story starts.

Davey Freeman is coming home.

Back to Wales and the people he loves.

His widowed father, and the friends who helped to raise him.

Skirt chasing Marc, Cigar chewing Bernie, and Wizened old Hugh.

The only family he has ever known.

It’s Midsummer so they are all up the mountain.

He thought he would surprise them.

Perhaps he should have thought that one through.

A story of discovery!

By the end of the weekend, one is out of the closet, two are out of this world, and the other is out of his mind!

                                             Quote

When you have a bad day at work
Wake up next morning in a skip
with half a squirrel in your hand and it still looks quite tasty
You are going to hit the bottle at some point
I would!

“All that stuff about the moon is true. We are all affected by moonlight. Elves go a bit skittish, Pixies get the urge to fly, and Shifters want to run through the forest in whatever shape they happen to like best. But Werewolves are affected most of all.”

“The very unstable ones are dangerous, mainly because they are so unpredictable. A change can happen during an argument, a particularly exciting sporting event, even during sex if it’s particularly emotional.”

“I gave him a look, seriously!”

“Oh yes,”

“Probably don’t get many second dates then!”

“No, trying to eat your date or rip her throat out generally puts the Kybosh on the romance, hence the isolation!”
